A bit about myself
Michael Reed
Fishing has been my passion and salvation my entire life. My father bought me my first rod when I was around the age of six, I still remember catching my first fish which started my life long obsession . My main passion has always been fly fishing, but I consider myself as an all-rounder. I still love getting out and fishing as often as I possibly can. My actual full-time job is working for ABB in Finland as a Global Supplier Quality and Reliability Manager, A role that takes me all over the world. However, when I'm not away working, I'm in my happy place doing what I love: building rods and wetting a line.
In late 2022 we purchased a new home in the beautiful Caldicot. Located very close the the grounds of Caldicot Castle Country Park. The 25 x 10 workshop was designed and built specifically for rod building, and is now the new home of M.A.R Custom Rods.
